Editorial Policy
The Global Credit is an independent publisher covering Your Money or Your Life (YMYL) finance topics. This page documents how we research, write, review and maintain every article so you can trust what you read.
Our expertise (E-E-A-T)
Every article is written or reviewed by a named author with relevant professional credentials — such as a CFA, CFP, or licensed mortgage advisor. Each author's credentials, biography and professional profiles are published on their author page so you can verify their expertise.
How we choose what to cover
We prioritize decisions that move real money: which credit card to apply for, whether to refinance, where to keep an emergency fund. We ignore hype, sponsored angles and traffic-bait. If a topic doesn't help a reader make a better financial decision, we don't write it.
Research & sourcing
Every quantitative claim is sourced. We link to primary sources wherever possible — issuer pricing documents, central-bank rates, government statistics, academic studies — and we cite them inline. When a source is not primary, we name the intermediary.
Fact-checking & review
Every article passes through a two-stage review: a senior editor evaluates clarity and framing, and a credentialed reviewer (CFA, CFP, or subject-matter expert) checks the numbers, the legal accuracy and the appropriateness of the recommendations before publication.
Keeping content fresh
Rates, fees and product terms change constantly. We re-review every article at least every six months and republish with an 'Updated' date whenever we change a material fact. Stale articles are clearly dated so you know what you are reading.
Editorial independence & affiliate disclosure
We may earn a commission when readers apply for products through certain outbound links. This compensation never influences our ratings, rankings or recommendations. Editors and writers do not receive commissions tied to specific products and are evaluated on accuracy and clarity, not on conversions.
Corrections
Mistakes happen. When we identify a factual error we correct it promptly, add a visible correction note at the top of the article, and update the modified date. Spotted an error? Email [email protected] and we will investigate immediately.
