About The Global Credit

The Global Credit is an independent newsroom focused on one thing: publishing clear, useful financial news and guidance for a worldwide audience. From credit cards and mortgages to investing, loans, currencies and macroeconomic moves, we cover the money stories that shape lives — in the language our readers think in, and for the country they live in.

Our mission

Our mission is to help everyday readers — not bankers, not insiders — make better money decisions. Most financial information is written for professionals or buried in jargon. We exist for everyone else: the person choosing a first credit card, comparing a mortgage, building an emergency fund, or trying to understand what a rate hike means for their wallet. If an article doesn't help a real person make a clearer, more confident decision, we don't publish it.

What we cover

We publish news and explainers about personal finance and the wider financial world — credit cards, travel rewards, mortgages and real estate, personal finance, investing, loans and debt, money hacks, plus the macroeconomic and policy stories that move markets. Each country gets its own page (for example theglobalcredit.com/brazil) so readers see the rates, rules and news that actually apply where they live.

A page for every country

Financial reality is local: interest rates, tax rules, banking products and payment habits all differ by country. That's why The Global Credit is organized around country pages — dedicated hubs for the financial news, products and explainers that matter to readers in each market. The same structure makes our content easier for search engines and AI agents to understand and surface.

Who is behind it

The Global Credit is founded and edited by Mauricio Nunes dos Reis (mauricionr.com.br), a Brazilian software engineer and publisher. Mauricio operates the AI research and drafting pipeline that produces our articles. Every piece is generated by that pipeline and then reviewed and approved by Mauricio through a pull-request workflow — nothing goes live until a human approves the deploy. We disclose this openly because honest, well-sourced content is what readers (and search engines) deserve.

Our editorial process

Every article starts with research: we gather primary sources — issuer pricing pages, central-bank rates, government statistics — and cite them inline so you can verify our claims. Drafts are then reviewed by a human editor for accuracy, clarity and plain language before publication; nothing is published automatically. Because rates, fees and product terms change constantly, we re-review articles on a rolling basis and republish with an updated date whenever a material fact changes. Spot an error? Email corrections@theglobalcredit.com and we'll investigate. Our full methodology is documented on our Editorial Policy page.

Languages and markets

We publish in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Italian — together covering the vast majority of the global online credit and finance audience. Each edition is written natively for its market, not machine-translated, because money, law and culture differ everywhere.

How we make money — and why you can trust us anyway

The Global Credit is funded by advertising and affiliate partnerships. We may earn commissions when you click certain affiliate links and apply for financial products, and we display ads to keep the site free to read. That never changes what we recommend, how we rank products, or what we write: partners have no say in our coverage, and nobody on the editorial side is paid based on what we persuade you to buy. If a product is bad, we say so plainly.
