The Global Credit earns money through affiliate links and display advertising. This page explains, in plain English, how that works and what it means for you.

How affiliate links work

Some of the links in our articles are affiliate links. When you click one and apply for or buy a product — for example a credit card or a savings account — the company behind that product may pay us a commission. This happens at no extra cost to you: the price, rate and terms you get are exactly the same whether you use our link or go directly. Articles that contain affiliate links show a clear disclosure banner at the top of the page, before the article begins.

Compensation never influences our content

Our editorial opinions, rankings and recommendations are never for sale. Compensation from partners does not determine which products we feature, how we rate them, or where they appear in our comparisons. We regularly recommend products that pay us nothing, and we criticize products that pay us well when they deserve it. Writers and editors are not paid commissions tied to specific products. If we would not recommend a product to a family member, we do not recommend it to you.

Display advertising

We also show display ads on some pages, served by third-party advertising networks such as Google AdSense. These ads are always visually separated from our editorial content and labeled as advertising. Advertisers have no access to our editorial process and no influence over what we write.
